PSA: Only allowing trans women the status of "woman" if they've had SRS is classist AF.
Not everybody has health insurance. Not everybody can afford to pay for surgery themselves. Is it fair to define womanhood based on income?
Not into dick? Triggered by phalluses? Fair enough. But that is YOUR issue. It doesn't mean you get to define other people's identities.
Defining womanhood based around what you find sexually arousing sounds an awful lot like something the Patriarchy would do. #JustSaiyan
And don't give me that "BUT TRANSWOMEN ARE JUST BUYING WOMYNHOOD" line. The entire point of this is womanhood is who you are on the inside.
Saying a woman is defined by her wallet or the sex appeal of her body is the antithesis of feminism.
And saying trans women who don't want surgery aren't women is like saying cis women should have surgery to make their vaginas look "normal".
Do you really think that if you're cis, and you have a "weird looking vagina", that you should you get a surgery to make it "normal"?
Of course, most TERFs DO support performing surgeries on unconsenting intersex infants to make them "normal". Wow! Such abolishing gender!
Why does the child who had surgery done on them without their consent count, but the surgery an adult decides to get not make her a woman?
I had SRS. It was an important thing for me to do. It didn't make me feel like "more of a woman". I was always a woman. That came from ME.
So much of "passing" is class-based. Not everybody can afford hrt, hair removal, voice lessons, makeup, new clothes, let alone surgeries.
How about not denying ppl's identities because they're too poor to live up to your ideals of gender?
