This is a great 1st step by the Speaker. It's clearly a trial balloon but also critical that he's being proactive & starting discussions
As always, the devil is in the details. We @NILC_org & @ImmJusticeFund remain steadfast in our commitment to achieve a real clean #DreamAct
We have momentum for #DreamActNow & need all segments of society (immigrants, educators, business, faith, progressives, etc.) to stay united
We can't afford further delays on #DreamAct. Every day, #DACA recipients at risk of losing ability to work, study, remaining w/loved ones
Students may drop out of school bc unaffordable or due to stress, uncertainty, etc. Employers will lose workers as their work permits expire
Every day w/o #DreamAct young #immigrants risk being unlawfully detained by ICE & CBP who lack accountability & hav been emboldened by Trump
We must not let this drag this out to Christmas holidays. If @SpeakerRyan is serious about #DACA solution, let's get votes for #DreamActNow

Within hours, our courageous plaintiffs Martin Batalla-Vidal @elianadreams @antonioalarconc & many more members of @MaketheRoadNY courageously sued to block Trump's decision to end #DACA 2/
We @NILC_org have the great privilege of representing them along w/ @MaketheRoadNY & @WiracYls. Since then #DACA recipients have also courageously sued as have @DemocraticAGs & our civil rights partners like @NAACP & @MALDEF are also defending #DACA 3/

There is monetised fabrication. People knowingly pumping out rubbish ('The Pope supports Trump') because it's a way of making money through Facebook / Google's ad-revenue model. My colleague @carljackmiller covered it brilliantly here for @BBCClick bbc.co.uk/news/technolog…
This is driven in part by programmatic advertising: ad-tech follow USERS around, and advertise on sites they visit, irrespective of how truthful it is. This is where tech solutions CAN work - ie de-rank / de-monetise etc. Some evidence that's working too. engadget.com/2018/09/14/fac…

#Thread Went to Vizhinjam coast to meet the fishermen who took part in rescue mission in #KeralaFloods . We were filled with positive energy and happiness hearing their experiences (1/n)
We dedicated almost 2 pages for celebrating their mission.On Thursday 8.10 pm Fr.Justin Judin,vicar of Vizhinjam church announced the requirement for boats through public announcement system. In 20 minutes almost 50 boats and 100 fishermen were assembled. Military like formation!
Just see the Engine fan of a fishing boat which participated in the #KeralaFloods rescue mission. Most of the boats are damaged and they won't be able to go to sea for a while. I was blown away by their sacrifice (3/n)

Just before the elections. Geo Group ( largest private prison contractor) Donated $250K to Trump Super Pac. Then $250K for his inauguration
As soon as trump won the election, their stock SOARED.
