Today, I attended a hate rally organized by fringe ‘Islamist’ groups on U.S soil. SHOCKING experience. I summarize the main points in this thread, until I publish a comprehensive piece tomorrow. 1/34 
First, let me make it clear that the majority of American Muslims (of all sects) condemn such hate groups. We call them out. They do not represent, but defy, the values of Islam. 2/34
The event, titled “Final Prophet Conference,” (a common cover for anti-Ahmadi rallies) took place at the @HIExpress in Springfield, VA. The main aim was to spread hatred against America's Ahmadi Muslims & raise funds to fight them. 3/34
Ahmadi Muslims (@alislam) are Muslims who believe the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), who claimed to be the Promised Reformer in 1889 in Qadian, India. Their motto: "Love for All; Hatred for None." 4/34
The groups, “Idara Dawat-O-Irshad, U.S.A. Inc” & “KNC - Islamic Institute of Theology” that organized the event are known for their anti-Ahmadi hate, & are both registered in Virginia, USA. "Khatme Nabuwat" groups have openly called for murder of Ahmadi Muslims in the U.K. 5/34
This was the program for the day. “Qadiani” is pejorative for Ahmadi Muslims. All speakers identified as “Ahle Sunnah” and most were of Pakistani origin. Audience was mostly comprised of Pakistani American men, some very young kids. 6/34
Hate literature declaring the Ahmadi Muslims as infidels and enemies of Islam was openly distributed at the event. Multiple speakers also reiterated this Takfir (anathematization) for other Muslim sects like the Shiites. 7/34
The theme of the conference: The Ahmadis are fast growing around the world, and 'the Muslims' must use all their energies to stop them from spreading within the United States. 8/34
Multiple speakers condemned the Ahmadi Muslims and held them responsible for discouraging Muslims from partaking in violent Jihad, a concept which they believed was widespread before the Ahmadis came along. 9/34
“Mirza (referring to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community) uprooted the spirit of Jihad from Muslims. He stopped Muslims from Holy war against the British,” one speaker lamented. 10/34
During the talks and off-line discussions, multiple speakers repeatedly referred to America as the “land of the infidels” (Kafiristan). 11/34
Conference urged American Muslims to check the beliefs of Muslims running for public office in America, lest they mistakenly vote for an Ahmadi instead. “Christians & Jews are infidels. But still better than the Ahmadi infidels,” one speaker reminded. 12/34
“Qadianis (pejorative for Ahmadi Muslims) have Qurans placed in hotels, motels & libraries across America and Canada,” one speaker complained. Yes, a “Muslim” group was complaining about Qurans in American/Canadian libraries. 13/34
Maulana Rafiq Khan held a copy of the Quran (with English translation) published by the Ahmadi Muslims & urged all Muslims to try their best to get those Qurans out of public places in the United States. Online here: alislam.org/quran/ 14/34
“Islam’s first caliph declared that false prophets & their followers be killed,” another speaker reiterated. The audience was reminded that Ahmadis were followers of a “false prophet.” Clear incitement to killing on American soil. 15/34
Speakers urged American Muslims to boycott Ahmadi Muslims. One speaker said his Mosque received a warm letter from a Muslim organization asking to work with them to counter Islamophobia. “We found out they were Qadianis. We rejected the offer,” he proudly stated. 16/34
Multiple speakers reiterated that dialogue with the Ahmadis – repeatedly referred to as “infidels” “imposters” “accursed” & “of the Satan” during the conference – is impermissible & amounts to infidelity in itself. 17/34
Mufti Habibur Rehman Ludhyanvi condemned Sunni Muslim activists like @lsarsour & @KhaledBeydoun as traitors for “befriending” Ahmadis. “They will be counted with the infidels,” he said. As for @mehdirhasan, Shias were outrightly declared Kafir by speakers. Terrible hate. 18/34
Speakers urged Muslims to boycott the Ahmadis and have no social relations of any sort with them. “This is impermissible.” 19/34
“Can we work for an Ahmadi?” one attendee asked. Keynote Speaker, Mufti Habib-ur-Rehman Ludhianvi: “Only if you are dying of hunger. Even then, your love for Islam requires that you not work with, or for the Qadianis,” he added. 20/34
Ahmadis use free speech of this country in their favor & ask for rights. “Where are the Muslim lawyers? Why don’t they go to the courts and have the Ahmadis stopped from professing Islam?” Mufti Habib-ur-Rehman Ludhianvi lamented. 21/34
“Islam is our religion, not theirs. Why do they use the label of our religion for themselves?” he angrily questioned. Remember, Ahmadi Muslims face severe legal persecution by regimes (such as Pakistan & Indonesia) that appease “Islamist” extremists. 22/34
Calls for Pakistan-style anti-Ahmadi laws were made. In this country, laws are such that you can’t openly fight the Ahmadis, he said. We must therefore use the system against them, use every means at our disposal to outlaw their profession of Islam in the United States. 23/34
In response to someone asking if we should debate the Ahmadis: “There are only two solutions Allah has suggested for these ignorant people (referring to Ahmadis). First the Book, & if not, then Force. There is no room whatsoever for dialogue.” 24/34
In Pakistan, Ahmadi Muslims face 3 years jail for identifying as Muslim, or their place of worship as Mosque. Multiple speakers suggested similar measures in America. “We cannot ever allow them to refer to their places of worship as Mosques,” stressed Maulana Rafiq Khan. 25/34
He again urged Sunni lawyers to use all legal measures possible to prevent Ahmadis from identifying as Muslim or writing “Masjid” on their Mosques. “This is unbearable,” he complained. 26/34
Any Muslim who seeks asylum in the United States by pretending to be a “Qadiani” automatically becomes an infidel. A Muslim can lawfully wed his wife without any divorce, the Mufti advised. 27/34
“There are many anti-Christs but the greatest anti-Christ in the world today is the Qadiayani movement,” one speaker said. Another referred to the Ahmadis as the greatest cancer in the world today. 28/34
“Forget about calling them Muslims, even referring to the “Qadianis” as Ahmadis is wrong.” We must refer to them as “Mirzais” or “Qadianis” (both terms used in a derogatory manner for Ahmadi Muslims). 29/34
Pretty alarming that the event was also a fundraiser to further the hate. Every member (there were close to 100 attendees) was asked to contribute $100 each to help organize similar events across the country in the near future. 30/34
As I was leaving, I said salam (Muslim greeting) to the clerics at the front. I️ asked why no one replied. “We only reply to the greeting of Muslims,” I was told. “It is forbidden to reply to the Salam of Kafirs.” 31/34
I will be writing about this experience in detail tomorrow. Unbelievable that this Nazi style, extremist, divisive and hateful rhetoric is being promoted on American soil. These extremists must be called out by all American Muslims. We owe this to Islam & America. 32/34
Also, this is proof that @realDonaldTrump's policy of banning innocent immigrants while turning a blind eye to such hate groups promoting extremism right here on US soil is a huge problem. We are banning the wrong people. 33/34

Yesterday I️ went to a Khatme Nabuwat Conference by an extremist Sunni group. Today, I️ am at a Seerat-un-Nabi conference at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque in Silverspring, MD. Difference between hate/Mullaism & love/Islam is so clear. Won’t trade my life to switch sides.
Thank you @LibyaLiberty. I️ went back to Pakistan for med school so quite used to such vitriol. Alarming that it’s come to America. But glad to see so many fellow Muslims speak up against the bigotry.
