Some abondoned building in Kushinagar(Uttar Pradesh)

Probably built in late 19th century, this building's facade is modelled after Ajanta cave temples. Architecture of Ajanta and counless other cave temples was equally as suitable for brick and stone architecture.
Similarily Ellora style arches were used perfectly in Brick temples of Bagan(Myanmar) utilising concept of true arch.
Fergusson also noted in his work 'Indian and Eastern architecture' referring to Sikkimese temples,

".....but was equally appropriate to masonic forms, and is used in masonary so judiciously by Indian architects that we lose sight of its origin."(sic)
