Where to even start? This kind of nonsense is extremely damaging to patients with cancer & their families- and to medical professionals treating them. I'll try list the major points of contention here in a whistle-stop tour.... 
Firstly, medical professionals not recommending cannabis for cancer patients NOTHING to do with lack of med. knowledge - it's been studied to death (>10k studies , see my previous piece here: health.spectator.co.uk/the-rise-of-th… ) and the reality is that it has limited efficacy..
...cannabis does NOT cure cancer, and it isn't even especially effective for symptomatic relief. If it was, we'd use it. In reality, we only use it as a last resource BECAUSE it's not very effective, and can make things (such as nausea) worse for many patients. ...
..there is no big pharma conspiracy: there's just relatively scant evidence for efficacy, and major problems with dose control (this CRUK piece by @Kat_Arney a good read scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org/2012/07/25/can… ). Overstating benefits helps no one, fosters mistrust of medical experts too.
...also, there's an entirely false conflation here which I've seen a lot in the Irish debate; conflating CBD and THC is daft. The former, usually sold as cannabis oil, is legal and regulated as a foodstuff. The psychoactive component (THC) is regulated, and....
..and concentrations in foodstuff cannot exceed a certain percentage. It is absolute rubbish to pretend CBD is is somehow illegal - you can pick it up anywhere. There's no ban on it. THC, for good reason, is more tightly regulated.
..keep in mind the poster of this this screed has previously made pretty alarming claims about cannabis cures / medical cover-ups, yet they are still viewed in a favourable light as a 'campaigner'. The problem is some campaigns are entirely misguided- this is one of them. Fin
..by the way, as a post-script I should say I was made aware of this by a cancer patient / excellent patient advocate who is quite frankly sick of this kind of nonsense being foisted upon fellow patients and their families.
