🔥After award, Nunes (Portuguese) begins an unrelenting ugly fight to move HQ of AFRICOM in Germany to Lajes Field in Azores 🇵🇹 Portugal over DOD & NATO security objections. When he didn’t get his way, he tried to discredit @DeptofDefense - just like he’s doing to @FBI now‼️ 
🔥Nunes and his allies in Congress did everything to keep the Lajes base. They even inserted provisions in bills to stop work on UK base and ACCUSED @DeptofDefense OF LYING‼️ 
Nunes and his accomplices accused the Pentagon too despite the fact they submitted all necessary documents 👇 
Nunes said that the DOD was “clueless Pentagon lackeys, bureaucrats that are spewing out garbage” 😳😳😳 
Congressman question the motivations behind his fight for the Lajes airbase and said it began in 2012... 
Nunes and his cohorts threatened the DOD: ”This is going to happen... You better jump on board the train or you are going to get run over by it” 
Despite DOD decision to move base to Croughton, UK since Lejas had deteriorating conditions and was uneconomical to upgrade- Nunes continued to push and malign the DOD. 
See, here’s the thing- even 4 Star Generals objected to Lejas base for security reasons. It would also cost $1.2 Billion more. Makes me wonder who exactly Nunes was working for ... 🧐 
Nunes has shown some odd loyalties as we see from his very odd behavior during the Russia investigation- but so has Portugal who has really warmed up to Russia- giving them a service contract for military helicopters and opposing sanctions on Russia.
It almost appears Nunes has other allegiances - not towards our NATO partners but definitely towards Portugal who has warmed their relationship w Russia.

🤔 Nunes launched the investigation against DOD because he didn’t get his way on Lejas base... What kind of info was shared on bases, communication infrastructure, and defense systems- exactly the info the DOD provided to Nunes and House Intel. We KNOW how he handles intel💥 
According to Schindler the Russian spy was from an elite cadre that handles high value agents.. moles inside Western spy services. What if info he gave RU was from Nunes who gave it to Portugal because they are also NATO and Nunes either didn’t know better or he meant to⁉️
