(1) I'm watching the FOX series on Bill Clinton's Impeachment. The House voted to impeach, the Senate voted against. 67 Senate votes would have been needed to impeach. The most we got towards that was 50. This raises some issues.

(3) It would be great if such voting decisions were made on the merits of the case and not party lines. That was unlikely in 1999 and it's virtually impossible in 2018. Which begs the question: is impeaching any POTUS ever going to be possible?
(4) My hunch is that even if one party had more than 67 seats and an impeachment case was abundantly clear and the charges serious & directly relevant to governance, a few Senators would always find a way to make the charges fail.
(5) I really think the probability of a successful impeachment is slim. This is a problem. I don't support lowering the threshold of a 2/3 majority, though. Surely it would be better to try to influence the hyperpartisanism, difficult as that would be?
(6) This is one of countless examples demonstrating why sowing division in America is so dangerous for the Republic. The impeachment process can only function properly if enough Senators are willing to put party to one side. They aren't and to be frank, I can see why.
(7) A broken impeachment process removes one of the crucial safety valves in the system. If the people can't get a hypothetically dangerous President impeached, then what other recourse would they have? You can see how violence would become more likely.
(8) This is why the Soviet Union then Russia have been sowing division in America since 1923. Because division weakens the genius system of government, making violent revolution more likely. Remember the stated aims of the Bolshevik Revolution.
(9) The Russian revolution of 1917 had the aim of taking over not only Russia, but the rest of the world, through whatever means necessary.

(10) 13 incompetent Russian trollmasters didn't divide America. The Democrats did, over the course of more than a century. The laws changed under Woodrow Wilson are a large part of why many things in America are such a mess.
(11) It is going to take more than 8 years to adequately reverse the damage Democrats have done in the last 105 years.
(12) Fortunately, the prospect of keeping the Democrats effectively out of power for at least the next 7 years are good. Especially given their dogged determination to keep on digging. I'm also fairly confident we can keep them out beyond 2024.
(13) Both Trump and Pence are gifted in explaining the overall MAGA vision to the public. Greater economic success and national security will lay the foundation for divisions to start to heal. They are necessary but not sufficient.
(14) There will always be the dividers: celebs, media, corrupt politicians. The internet is our best tool for negating their influence on hearts and minds. POTUS ensures maximum transparency in government. Armed with primary sources, it becomes easier to counter the narratives.
(15) The dividers can no longer control the information flow. So don't worry about them. The results of the MAGA agenda will speak for themselves. Once people have a greater sense of safety and economic opportunity, divisions can be tackled.
(16) It is a glacially slow process. So I just want to remind you, incredible progress has already been made in a very short time. In the scheme of things. We are fighting against a pervasive negative belief system. It will take a long time.
(17) As long as we are heading in the right direction I feel I can relax a little. (Very important if your tendency is toward anxiety). Thousands of Americans have broken the law in ways that weakened the Republic. Thousands of criminals have already been caught, too.
(18) My optimism isn't based on faith or wishful thinking, it's based on facts, such as the overall reducing crime rates and increasing prosecution rates in key areas. You have to look a little deeper to find information about this, but it's definitely there.
(19) Increasingly I try to filter incoming info & events through this lens. I consider how long the collectivists have been trying to undermine the Republic & the enormous extent to which they've gotten away with it so far.
