Facebook is setting up a booth in the CPAC exhibit hall.

Two attendees just told me they saw proof on Facebook this morning that the Parkland students are crisis actors. Facebook reps here told me they’re not going to talk about that.
.@facebook just emailed me a statement on their CPAC presence.

"Facebook routinely participates in events hosted by organizations across the political spectrum."
I don’t remember such a prominent Facebook booth at past CPACs (I’ve been covering it for 4 years), but policy manager Nu Wexler tells me they were also here last year
My story on CPAC attendees, fake news, and Facebook: thinkprogress.org/cpac-attendees…
Update: Facebook Head of Content Policy Mary deBree emailed me an additional statement:

"Images that attack the victims of last week's tragedy in Florida are abhorrent. We are removing this content from Facebook.”

Some clarification: This is Facebook’s first year in the exhibit hall where they have a booth alongside groups like the NRA and Heritage Foundation. Last year they were on media row.
Just spent some time perusing the CPAC exhibit hall. Facebook is the only group/company here that’s not explicitly conservative.
Somehow I missed that Facebook also set up a virtual reality shooting game at CPAC
