The @NYTimes reported on Tues that an unpublished UN report indicated North Korea has been shipping supplies to Syria’s government that may have been used for chemical weapons
@nytimes The unreleased report says North Korea has sent acid-resistant tiles, valves and thermometers to Assad’s government and that North Korean missile technicians have been seen at Syrian missile facilities. The draft report was also seen by @WashingtonPost. washingtonpost.com/world/national…
@nytimes @washingtonpost Amnesty International called on the @UN to publish the report, and said that, if true, North Korea’s reported actions of supplying Syria with chemical weapons would be “utterly deplorable.”
“To help the Syrian government – which has repeatedly used chemical weapons against civilians – replenish its supplies would be a particularly egregious betrayal of humanity.” - @amnesty

The unpublished UN report on North Korea’s ties to Syrian chemical weapons has also been confirmed by an unnamed source to CNN.
During a press briefing, @StateDeptspox said “This is something that the US has had concerns about...especially as NK becomes more desperate that they look for different, creative & horrific ways to try to make money to fund their criminal regime…."
“...if they are selling goods, material, whatever you want to call it, to Syria, it shows the depravity of that regime.”
The report comes on the heels of both sides appearing to show more openness for diplomatic talks. nytimes.com/2018/02/27/wor…
