1/ The more I meditate, the more I internalize following insights:

We live our days as if there’s a unifying self, but in reality our mind is composed of different modules and each one has its own goals and values.
2/ The goal of our ego module is to connect all of these modules’ goals and values into a reasonable story.

Meditation reveals this madness behind competing thoughts in our mind.
3/ The games we choose to play (wealth, status, social media followers, beauty) end up taking over our lives. Goals further give us goals.

Meditation shows tha life can be lived without competing.
4/ Our biological tendencies pull us towards competing: we want more wealth, status, friends, allies, mates. To be human is to compete.

This is why meditation takes effort, it pushes us towards a state of mind that’s not natural to us: comfort and compassion.
5/ There are things you can read and there are things you can experience. I always believed that to think and understand is to know what something is. But to read about meditation isn’t to know what it is.

It takes direct practice to know what it is.
6/ Everything’s going to be ok, after all.

Reflect deeply to know your values and goals, do what you need to do to progress towards them, appreciate change, forget destination, be at peace with whatever is there already.
