Siddaramaiah APP, run by Government of Karnataka(unlike NM app) sends my details to a website owned by a private company.
Data is not encrypted, sent as http instead https
Server where data is sent is hosted by Amazon
I see that my personal data including mobile number, device name are being sent to citizenoutreachapp.in owned by a private company and hosted by aws
Can @siddaramaiah explain why data from a government app is sent to private company and how he ensures safety of data?
When you click privacy policy of Siddaramaiah app developed by government in play store, it takes you to 404 page

We’ve been exploring this topic @adventur_es for 3-4 years now. In addition to an information advantage and a large sample size, transaction costs and governance are crucial components in private transactions.
These two additional components, transaction costs and governance, comprise friction that is 1000X higher than public markets. Quant hedge funds can identify and purchase a stock in a blink at almost no cost and with no governance function, then sell it just as easily.

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers
