Thread with useful TradingView tickers.

Japanese Premium (%): BITFLYER:BTCJPY*JPYUSD/BITFINEX:BTCUSD-1
Korean Premium (%): BITHUMB:BTCKRW*KRWUSD/BITFINEX:BTCUSD-1
Tether Premium (%): USDTUSD-1
BitMEX Premium (%): BITMEX:XBTUSD/BITFINEX:BTCUSD-1

To change % premia to $ premia, change '/' to '-' and delete '-1'.
Characteristics:
- Mean reverting
- Interestingly, the premia are highly correlated
- Excesses indicate an imbalance of fear or exuberance
- Good as a sentiment indicator (risk on/risk off)
Volume weighted BTC composite: (BITFINEX:BTCUSD*53+BINANCE:BTCUSDT*41+COINBASE:BTCUSD*17+BITSTAMP:BTCUSD*15+KRAKEN:XBTUSD*4)/130

Use this for Bitcoin.

TradingView Tip (Volume):

@tradingview charts, by default, merge the volume indicator with the price chart.

Pros:
- It saves space on your screen

Cons:
- Volume is immeasurable
- Volume can only be compared on a relative basis
Example:
Take a look at the @coinbase chart vs the @bitfinex chart. You'd have no idea that, on an absolute basis, Bitfinex's volume is 5x that of Coinbase's (trailing 120d).
Fix:
Right click the volume bar in TradingView and click on "unmerge down".
Voila, you've now produced a chart that properly quantifies volume.

This is a simple trick that is both underused and underrated. You should put volume in a separate pane by default.
Observing volume is important because it gives informs you of the market dynamics that are at play. (I'll elaborate on another day.)
On most exchanges, BTCUSD volume is BTC-denominated. There are some exceptions.

- KRAKEN:XBTUSD - BTC-denominated
- BITMEX:XBTUSD - BTC-denom.
- OKCOIN:BTCUSD3M - USD-denom. (multiply by 100)
- CME:BTC - BTC-denom. (multiply by 5)
- CBOE:XBT - BTC denom. (no multiplier)

To base the index to 100 on Jan 1. 2017, multiply by 1.14:
1.14*BTCUSD^0.5*ETHUSD^0.5
If you want to change the mix in the ticker, simply change the exponent in the ticker.

e.g.
BTC 60%, ETH 40%: BTCUSD^0.6*ETHUSD^0.4
BTC 80%, ETH 20%: BTCUSD^0.8*ETHUSD^0.2

How quickly did people transition from: "ETH will allow decentralized AirBNB " to "ETH will be a decentralized too-big-to-fail bank". What a joke, seriously. I suspect that there are too many people balls deep in this stuff, career wise, to gracefully admit their own silliness.

I updated my Retail Volume Share indicator on @tradingview with a couple minor tweaks to the exchanges. I'm threading in some thoughts and notes.

Changes:
1. Removed Bithumb data due their distortive wash trading event. [1]
2. Added Gemini data now that they have backfilled their volume data on TradingView.

Comparison of v1 and v2. Removing Bithumb has cleaned the noise up a lot. (I'm not happy about removing Bithumb volume from this indicator b/c Korea is such a strong retail market. I'll consider adding it back later when the noise clears.)

Yale goes out there and attacks new and weird investments. They are widely considered to be *the* thought leader in the allocator space.
Yale, as mother eagles do, regurgitate their food into the happily accepting mouths of other pleb endowments who happily replicate the "Yale Model" because they severely lack an imagination.
