1) Social media open up tremendous opportunities for personal growth, but put new demands for the skillset necessary to achieve this ideal movement.

The good news is that the scarcity of social crafts offers explosive rewards to those who make the effort, even if flawed.
2) Facetime skills that social media have made exponentially more competitive & valuable:
- Talking up a stranger
- Touching (appropriately!)
- Storytelling
- Dressing and grooming
- Body language
- Good etiquette & politeleness (but no soy!) in conversation
3) Online does not replace offline, unless you are an idiot or an intentional hermit.

Online addiction has elevated the value of facetime skills to the level of wizardry. If you master-use these skills you get an inconceivable advantage over most people online and off.
4) Big Social has also encouraged toxic dynamics that maximize clicks at the expense of authentic connection & value. By design and incompetence, BS makes the competitive advantage of proper social craft ever greater.

.
5) You get a huge payoff with less effort, but fewer people to learn from or with.

You have to rely on A/B testing and practice more than ever before. Which makes the skillset scarcer because people's inaction-inertia. So the value of marginal improvement is even greater.
6) The protected echo chambers of the digital world render most people incapable of handling real-world conflict.

This puts a vast premium on facetime courage & application of the social crafts.

7) Courage manifest publicly has a powerful, visceral draw even in a society which has forgotten what courage is. Learning social crafts through practice builds - and shows - courage by necessity.
