All about the patterns. Obama's efforts could never get past Congress wholly intact. Obamacare alone was evidence that even with big majorities, his efforts could not get through unscathed, thus leaving the massive weaknesses that could be exploited.
See: healthcare mandate, that because of its unpopularity had to be classified as a tax by Scotus, which could then get repealed in the tax cut bill. Obama's administration became very aware of the weaknesses of his agenda if it was subject to the regular legislative process.
So what's the answer then? See, remember, the TOP Dems, are evil but smart. If you assume that they're all dumb you're in for a bad time. No, their coordination of the message, their efforts, they ARE smart, if they're working at joint purposes.
They're smart enough to use strategery. They had to get Obama's agenda through, and the GOP, still stuck in strategy mode, were on the defense. Their goal was to not let Obama pass anything. So how do you pass an agenda where your opponent won't let anything pass?
You use mechanisms so it doesn't HAVE to pass. You use executive policy memos to set up DACA. You let the SCOTUS shoot holes in your capstone legislative effort so long as it stays alive. You put together 'international agreements' that don't have to be passed like treaties.
This leaves an achilles heel. It relies on holding the executive branch. NOTHING ELSE MATTERED. Just the executive branch. So long as the Dems didn't give the GOP veto-proof majorities, a Dem executive branch could keep it all intact, and could veto any legislative counterattack
And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is WHY the Obama administration and all of its appendages launched the sabotage and espionage effort against the Trump campaign. THAT is why the UK assisted in the espionage efforts. THAT'S why the world stood against Trump.
Why write something Trump could eliminate with the stroke of a pen? Because the only way they could get the Obama agenda through, including the Iran Deal, is by evading our normal legislative processes that would have stopped that bullshit right in its tracks.
THAT is why they tried so hard to keep Trump from getting elected, THAT is why they tried to destroy his administration day one, because they build a glass house and couldn't afford ANY rocks to be thrown inside of it. /end
