Knowledge is Power: Education is not intended to fill a container with knowledge. It is intended to light the fire of justice within you. The term ‘Philosophy’ in Doctor of Philosophy does not mean the field or academic discipline of Philosophy; 1/75 #Justice4Australia
it means in the broadest sense, with its original Greek meaning, ‘love of wisdom.’ I write this NOT as a Psychologist as there is limits within any profession. I write this as a human being in the broadest sense in accordance with love of wisdom. 2/75
Throughout history it was been a privilege and more importantly a responsibility to share the truth for justice. For example, ‘homosexuality’ was recently considered an illness in Psychiatry; listed in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. 3/75

Australians are outraged. I feel calm. On 16th of January 2021, I started my first daily question for Tharnicaa and Kopika. Shortly after I found 2021 Human Rights Watch World Report. I made a series of threads that taught me what a nightmare we are in. #Justice4Australia 1/15
I was attacked by trolls. I was even called a ‘political pedophile’. Through #HomeToBilo, Priya and Nades gave me permission to continue. Although I took a step back and made threads on some of the best things I’ve learnt from Psychology the past 20 years. 2/15
Now 12 weeks later, I finally made ‘one tweet’ with a Nelson Mandela quote that includes this all: All of Australia’s violations of Human Rights and Tools for Wellbeing (please see below). I could share more but what is the point? 3/15

They were granted temporary visas after spending up to eight years in Australian detention on Pacific islands before being transferred to the country for medical treatment. 2/8
The group's release comes after more than 60 refugees were freed in similar circumstances in December/January.  Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton told local radio that it was "cheaper" for the refugees to be released into the community than to be held in detention. 3/8

Australia`s parliament is to resume on March 15th

An auspicious calendar date that saw Julius Caesar killed by Senators in the Roman Senate 2,065 years ago

The Australian Senate can do the same the to Scott Morrison Liberal lead government
How can this be done?

By using parliamentary privilege to out the #CabinetMinister named in the letter sent to @SenatorWong & @sarahinthesen8

The governments presumption of innocence line they using with the help of their media mates
was not used for #Robodebt victims

It was not used for #AsylumSeekers

In fact this government ignores #HighCourt rulings against it #HomeToBilo

If ever victims of injustice deserve members of parliament to act for the betterment of the whole country

Is it appropriate to give Tharnicaa a voice? Firstly, I would like everyone to know that I consulted #HomeToBilo when I began the daily questions. Their parents know I ask them. #HomeToBilo regularly speaks to them and shares your support. 1/7 #TimeForAHome #HomeToBilo #Auspol
Secondly, I have tried to be very careful what questions I ask. By keeping them simple. Importantly, I have never answered on their behalf. I only ask. The idea was inspired by ‘Writing Through Fences’ where Australians and people in Immigration detentions became pen pals. 2/7
The intentions of this campaign are to: give Tharnicaa and Kopika a voice; raise awareness of Australia’s cruel and unlawful refugee policy; create a way they have thousands of messages of support; and humanise those we have too often been conditioned to see as a threat. 3/7

STATEMENT: Biloela family Federal Court decision.

In an emailed decision sent to all parties on Tuesday morning, the Federal Court has upheld Justice Moshinsky’s April 2020 decision.

Lawyers for the family are currently assessing whether an injunction or stay of orders will be required to protect the family from further deportation efforts.

It’s me, Tharnicaa. Kopika and I brought mummy and daddy - Priya and Nades - to question time. We’ve been detained by the Australian Government for 1073 days. How many people live with you and how many bedrooms are there? #HomeToBilo #Auspol
The first time I stayed w/ my partner in the Philippines, he had one small studio room w/ his children. No shower, only cold water and a camping gas stove. My partner's door was always open to his children's friends who had no food or routine. One of the many reasons I love him.

That's easy! Psychology. Why? Because when you learn to make truth the only authority of your life you can always be free. People can try to take away your freedom, but no one can ever take away our greatest treasures: our mind, our hearts and our spirit.

No matter where we’re from/how we got here, everyone needs a safe place to call home. For the past 7 years, successive governments have enacted harmful policies against people seeking asylum, including the indefinite detention of everyone who arrived by boat after July 2013.  3/9

Labor respects the Federal Court’s decision handed down today.

It is now incumbent on the Government and @PeterDutton_MP to respect the decision, deal in good faith with the family’s lawyers over the next seven days and give effect to the Federal Court’s judgment #auspol
Labor is relieved the family will not be deported from Australia whilst this is taking place – particularly given the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on all countries and people across the globe.
Nades, Priya and their two children have built a life in Biloela in regional Queensland – they’ve worked hard, paid taxes, contributed to their community and have been supported by their friends and neighbours, even after callously being moved to Christmas Island.

Common sense seems to have been totally lost on the #Morrison government. Who in their right mind sends a letter to a family 2 days before #Christmas to say your visa is denied? Morrison and Dutton just have to kick you when your down... to make sure you stay there! #auspol

What's going on with abattoirs in Australia?

King Island, wants a $50 million abattoir bcuz it costs $120 to ship beasts to mainland for slaughter

Owners JBS, shut the old abattoir in 2012

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a boat?
Now, JBS is a big Brazilian Corporation also known in Australia as Meatworks

They want to build an abattoir in Victoria at Gillieston

Even tho abattoirs are doing it tough in the drought, they can't get staff & are closing down all over Aust
JBS/Meatworks seems to move in, take over, put other abattoirs out of operation, then get state govt subsidies to absorb the workforce that they forced out of a job or shut it down completely & move on

They got $1.2 mill in QLD to absorb staff

Something that absolutely floors me is the extraordinary misinformation about the Biloela Tamil family that journalist after journalist seems to just let through to the keeper and go to air/print.

The family have NEVER had their asylum claims heard by ANY court in Australia.
The asylum claims of Pryia - whose former fiancé was burnt alive in front of her - and Nades - who was conscripted to the Tamil Tigers as a child soldier - were processed by 2 public servants.

The courts have assessed if correct bureaucratic was followed-not their asylum claims.
During the brief interview for Priya’s asylum claim there was a breakdown in translation with the translator and vital information was not communicated. You can see evidence of this on the interview transcript - would any journalists like to look at it?
