Representation matters. Inclusion matters. Why was the main character’s Jewish character arc all but erased? One shiva scene with a Yarmulke thrown on the floor do not provide context to Marc becoming the Fist of Khonchu. (And no, it wasn’t “just” because he was dying).
Oscar Isaac’s Guatemalan roots were taken into account and honored in the series because representation matters. We can all agree that this is beautiful, right?

This week, the show drew to a close, with the episode 6 ending featuring the debut of Jake Lockley in the post-credits scene, as well as a fight between Marc Spector, Steven Grant (both played by Oscar Isaac), Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) and Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy).
Having been reluctant to become the avatar for the ancient Egyptian moon god Khonshu, Layla eventually became an avatar for the hippo god Taweret instead, donning a stunning outfit as part of her superhero transformation, complete with sword-embellished wings 😮

Al llegar a la tumba, los protagonistas se encuentran con que algunos sacerdotes han sido enterrados con quien sea que se haya enterrado ahí (aún no saben que es Alejandro Magno).

My very first idea for the show was a scene where Steven was trapped in a bathroom by a monster, only to be saved by the man in the mirror.
So right from the beginning, I knew his suit would need to be supernatural. 2/8

اولا احتمالا میدونید که خورشید در اسطوره های مصری بسیار مهم هست. با توجه به اهمیت کشاورزی در مصر باستان خدای خورشید رع (Ra) به شکل های مختلف در داستان های مختلف وجود داره اما خدایی که برای ماه باشه کمتر و به صورت پیچیده تر دیده میشه و ظاهرا ترکیبی از اسطوره های مختلف باشه

در زبان مصر باستان، کلمه ای که برای خورشید به کار میرفت "رع" بود که همنام خدای خورشید بود. کلمه ای که برای ماه بکار میرفته "یاه" (Iah) هست که در مواردی معادل "خدای ماه" استفاده شده. این مورد در کتیبه هایی که داخل اهرام وجود داره و مربوط به ۲۷۰۰ الی ۲۲۰۰ سال قبل میلاده دیده شده
