Don't let anyone fool you!

A SaaS App can be quite simple.

Here are a few rules that help you make the right decisions 🚀🧵
💡 Mindset (1/2)

The SaaS space is a mature, highly commoditized one where you can cherry-pick a lot of what is needed from a pool of mature services and ready-to-use modules and use well-established, common best practices.
💡 Mindset (2/2)

Just don't lock yourself into short-lived technologies or dependencies.

And let your team only build stuff that sets you apart from the competition and/or builds up real value in your startup.

Buy everything else (the commodities)

@LettingsChris in an industry full of Slugworths its great to show Charlie Bucket round the chocolate factory

(bit of a creepy photo but the analogy is strong)
I get a lot of stick, a lot of negativity and naysaying from people who are used to desktop systems, influencers who disregard or are in denial that browsing habits have changed. Like it or not 80% of internet browsing is not done through monitors now; mobile is where it's at
Property platforms are constrained; photos & logos. Maxing both a must!

Scalable progressive wed design is up against it from the start.

Criticising UI when there is so little space to work with is unreasonable and unfair

#coding #nocode #startup
Check the thread 🧵 👇
#PWA is good for lite versions of apps and search engines availability if you need organic growth you can use also #webstories to distribute your product for consumers
Example of #nocode platform for web/pwa development 👉@bubble

#Native apps are good when you need mobile features (double, long touches, touch is/face recognition, heavy processors runs etc)
Example #nocode platform for native #mobile apps development 👉 @flutterflow

My React Native Journey:
A while ago, I fell madly in love with #React. And recently delved into #ReactNative. My React Native journey hasn't been as smooth though. Due to the frequent updates of the react-native framework, existing tutorials quickly become outdated.
In this thread, I have curated some of the most relevant materials I have found, which have brought the much-needed balance to my learning journey. They are listed below:
1. The React Native Documentation: irrespective of what other material you chose. This always comes in handy for quick reference. And it's always up to date.

Finally, when you are building a #PWA & setting up a service worker, this is how i feel your fetch event handler should be to handle a myriad of edge cases:

Part 1:
This part shows a CACHE FIRST LOOKUP. Also notice when the app is offline. Setup fetch to work with the HTTP cache
Part 2:
This part show a NETWORK NEXT LOOKUP. We detect errors with the fetch request first and return early. Then detect server-sent events and return too. Then split the by content type: html, css,js,svg responses gets put in the cache and json responses gets put in IndexedDB.
Notice this area: it helps us handle cache eviction gotchas that might hit us when developing a PWA

Don't worry the navigator object is very well accessible inside both Web Workers & Service Workers.

Notice how persist the cache after updating with `cache.put()`
