India has seen the legendary U-Turns of Modi Govt in the last four years. Perhaps, even Modi is beaten in the U-turn game by @vijayanpinarayi in #Kerala, in just about one-third of the time.

In this thread, let us look at the transformation of a so called ‘Double-hearted’ Govt, to a ‘Double-faced’ Govt through its numerous U-turns and actions reeking of double standards. #DoubleFaced #IrattaMukham #VijayakumarForChengannur

While the CM is vocal in his support for the farmers agitating in other states, Govt used Police force to defeat a farmer’s agitation against acquisition of farmlands and used Party goons to burn down a pandal set by the agitators in Keezhatoor! 3/  #DoubleFaced #IrattaMukham

In an election Jumla, they made the promise of bringing REAL reduction in liquor consumption, but in power they are increased the number of outlets & reducing the distance between Bars & schools. Yechuri promised people that LDF Govt will not open any closed Bars. #UTurnPinarayi

While in opposition they did all that was possible trying to prevent KM Mani, whom they accused of huge corruption (including having a note counting machine at home). Now in power they misused Vigilance to give clean chits to KM Mani with the expectation that he will join LDF!

When UDF was in power and Vigilance gave a report to the Court that there is no evidence against KM Mani, they said UDF is misusing its power. Today, same Vigilance is giving clean chit to Mani and they are busy welcoming him to join their Front! 6/ #DoubleFaced #IrattaMukham

While in Opposition they kept accusing the then Govt of diluting RTI Act due to its fear of people’s opinion. Today, in decisions after decisions the Govt is diluting RTI and refusing the part with even information on Cabinet decisions! #UTurnPinarayi

In 2015, when the then Govt increased Basic Land taxes, they agitated against the decision and forced the Govt to give that move. Today, in power they have brought the same increase in Land Taxes. 8/

While Kochi Metro was in progress they accused then Govt of wanting to keep E Sreedharan out to bring corruption in. Today, in power they have forced E Sreedharan to quit the TVM and Calicut Light Metro projects. The CM even humiliated by refusing him a meeting! #UTurnPinarayi

When TP was murdered and the Kerala Police inquiry reached the middle level leadership of CPM they said govt used Kerala Police for plotical mileage. Today, when party workers arrested on Shuhaib murder they said they won't believe in police investigations. #UTurnPinarayi

During election, they accused that UDF is catering to Land Mafia. Today when their MLAs and Ministers (Thomas Chandy, Rajendran,PV Anwar, Joyce George) are involved in forest or land encroachment cases, the Govt is extending all support to the encroachers!

While in opposition,they torpedoed the Aranmula Airport project (initially sanctioned by their own previous Govt) on the ground that it can damage the environment.In power, they have no problem for an airport at Erumeli by destroying over 2000 acre of vegetation! .

While in opposition, they always agitated against even reasonable increases in the fee charged by self-financed professional colleges. Their student wing indulged in destruction of public property. In power, they facilitated an all-time record fee (11lakh/annum) increase in MBBS

Earlier when an expert committee and Planning Board recommended division of KSRTC into to three, to improve its performance and viability, they said they will not allow it. Today, in 2018 Budget they say they will divide the same KSRTC into three profit centers!

When previous Govt entered into contract with Adani Group for implanting Vizhinjam Port they accused of corruption over crores. After coming to power, they neither acted against the so called corruption nor sought any changes in the Contract!

When previous Govt purchased Lancer/ Skoda Octavia cars for Ministers, they objected it by terming it as luxury and misuse of public money. Today, they purchased 25 luxury Innova Crysta cars coasting over Rs 26 Lakh per car! Such a double face indeed!

While in the opposition, Jacob Thomas was hailed as a great officer & the previous Govt blamed as corrupt for keeping him away from critical assignments. Today, when he acted against their own leaders & cronies, he was thrown out of Vigilance & suspended from service.

When R Balakrishna Pillai was appointed as Chairman of Forward Caste Development Corporation, they accused UDF of rehabilitating a person convicted for corruption. Today, in power, they appointed same person to the same post, with the same Cabinet Rank!

When UDF Govt sought to construct a High Speed Highway through Kerala they objected it saying it will divide Kerala into two! Today, they are using all highhanded tactics to create similar highways after causing so much delay.

When GAIL announced the proposed pipeline through Kerala, it was the CPM which was in the forefront of agitations against the project.Today, in power, they are using Police force to suppress all agitations against the project and labeling agitators as extremists!

While in the opposition, they keep attacking any projects involving funding by the World Bank or other similar financial agencies.In power,they shamelessly go with all similar projects even minister insulted Team leader Bernad Aristo & blamed for delay.

When UPA & UDF Govts tried to reduce the Revenue and Fiscal deficits to strengthen the economy, CPM accused that it was part of the neo-liberal policies. Now with Budget 18, Govt is trying to achieve the very same results through reducing fiscal defict 3.1% & revenue defict 1.66

While in opposition (even now) they talk about opposing new-liberal policies. But in practice, they have no problem in embracing privatization measures & a KIIFB outside of budget. Even appointed Geetha Gopinath(known for neo liberal policies) as Economic advisor of @CMOKerala

During Karunakaran régime CPM made state wide protest against ex DGP Raman Srivastava for allegation on his certain comments against muslims & accusing of involvement in ISRO spy case. Now they have no problem for appointing him as the home advisor of @CMOKerala

They called @Oommen_Chandy govt prestigious Kochi Smart City project as real estate mafia during opposition and even mocked that only tea shops & beauty parlour came there. Now during rule they don't have any problems with them & recently even organized a #Future summit wth them

They raised a lot allegation against contributory pension when @Oommen_Chandy govt first introduced it & even Thomas Issac made statement that they will drop contributory pension if they will get rule. Now they are silent about this even after two years.

Previous govt dropped the idea of increasing pension age of KSRTC employees to 58 considering the demand of left transport unions. Now @vijayanpinarayi keenly looking to increase their pension age to 60. Even called a meeting for that.

They blamed a lot against @Oommen_Chandy for giving Self ruling status to certain selected colleges. SFI had conducted long protests infornt of Maharajas college. Now @vijayanpinarayi too gave self ruling status to 23 engineering colleges. SFi is now where seen.

They blamed @Oommen_Chandy for hring an advocate from outside for KM Mani on govt account. (7lakhs). Now they don't have any problems with hiring an advocate from outside on solar case on govt account with 1 crore 20 lakhs.

During last UDF Govt @CPIM_Keralam 's student wing SFI slapped former diplomat and ambassador of India Shri T.P. Sreenivasan in the global meet for research & education. Now @vijayanpinarayi govt wants international tie up in medical research. Personification of double std!
