1/ When a democratically elected govt spend taxpayers’ money to mislead the taxpayers themselves by publishing manipulated and fudged data in public domain for its political mileage, it is despicable . After SBA thread, here is the PMAY #Thread

2/ Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is the new name given by this govt to the previously existed IAY, RGAY and other central govt sponsored housing schemes. Projecting PMAY as this govt’s initiative is like saying India became independent only after May 2014.

3/ Modi govt and BJP published advertisements says since they came in to power, 10,700,000 houses “constructed” under PMAY, but the numbers in the last four years (2010 - 2014) under UPA was just 25.51 lakh houses. This claim is a blatant lie

4/ To check the IAY numbers, we are depending on CAG audit reported numbers. The report says 27.15 lakh houses constructed in 2010-11, 24.71 lakh in 2011-12 and 21.86 lakh in 2012-13 under IAY. And if we take 2009-10, it was 33.86 lakh houses.

5/ Ideally, if this govt is comparing their first four years’ performance, it shd b compared with UPA 2’s first 4 years rather than the last four. In that case, UPA 2 numbers stands at 10,758,000 houses in four years - identical to Modi govt claimed numbers.

6/ Even if we take three years’ Number of UPA 2 (CAG report is only up to 2012-13) it 73,72000, which is 48.21 lakh houses more than what Modi govt claims UPA 2 “completed” in 4 years. And remember, we are yet to add the numbers of one year (2013-14)

7/ Now let us check what this govt is claiming UPA 2 number was. As per Modi govt data, “houses completed prior to 2012-13 was 240,353, for 2013-14, 138,056”. Shocked? Don’t be. Check the link and screenshots

9/ That is a whopping 63,91757 houses or 148.36% (nothing much, just 148.36% only😁) less than what Modi govt advertised. We have one more source to verify our claim. Check the screenshot and tabulate the numbers

10/ You might have noticed in the screenshots in tweet No:8 that these numbers are the consolidated numbers of all centrally sponsored schemes (Under PMAY umbrella) and UPA numbers published by CAG was only of IAY (Rural)

11/ Then what is this 10700000 houses Modi govt saying they are “constructed”? Ministry dashboard says 10,054,062 people registered themselves as the beneficiaries of the scheme since 2014. And thats the closest number we can match with Govt and BJP’s claim

12/ That means, when a person register as a beneficiary for a govt sponsored housing scheme, a house is automatically constructed immediately for him / her with Modi saheb’s divine powers!! If you hv any other possible explanation, pls feel free to reply.
