I had another fantastic week in London, learning about behavioural science, design and the digital technologies shaping our world. Some learnings and highlights (Thread) 
Behavioural science is very much in business there. Both in terms of consultancies and in-house teams. Although there are challenges, they are known issues and the best teams are finding ways around them.
The number of active university programs (Warwick, LSE, UCL,etc) means the supply of young behavioural scientists is growing quickly. Although there may still be a gap from a ‘practitioner’ perspective?
Nudgestock was really impressive this year. Well done @s_tatam , @danbenyork and team. Highlights were @NAChristakis talking about the impact of changing network structures and @rorysutherland on the importance of context, experimentation and ID’ing a nudges working conditions.
Alas, we didn’t win a Nudgeaward this year. Our entry was for a program we designed in SA, to lower citizen meat consumption for the month of May. I’ll do a separate thread in the future to unpack what we did here.
The London @DesignMuseum was incredible too. A brilliant collection of exhibitions that gave me a real sense of what design has been through and where it is going, as well the role it can play in the world as a force for good.
Earlier this week I attended #CogX2018 an AI-themed super-conference with 7 stages on everything from the impact of AI to the ethics of it all. Jurgen Schmidhuber’s talk was definitely a highlight- stretching minds well beyond the end of the comfort zone.
I also managed to find a brief bit of down time too, drinking beers with friends at Prince Albert, watching the Boks reel in the English and getting caught in the middle of a herd of naked cyclists on Albert Bridge.
Big thanks to everyone for making my week such a memorable one. Especially my brother (who still seems to get taller every time I see him).
All in all, another fantastic trip up north. Onto Bangalore next, for a financial inclusion project, and then Sydney for BX towards the end of June.
