2/ Remember when candidate Trump staged an event in Iowa for veterans instead of attending that last GOP debate? NY AG says that fundraiser raised $5.6 million, $2.823 million of which went to Trump Foundation.
3/ Then, the NY AG alleges, the Trump "Foundation ceded control over the charitable funds it raised to senior Trump Campaign staff." The campaign then highlighted these contributions on the campaign trail. NY AG considers this "an improper in-kind contribution" of $2.823M
4/ NY AG: "Mr. Trump's wrongful use of the Foundation to benefit his Campaign was willful and knowing" given the prohibition on political activities for Foundation work, in which Mr Trump under penalty of perjury affirmed on IRS Form 990 the Foundation did not participate.
5/ Then there's the $25k check the Foundation wrote to Florida AG Pam Bondi's 527 political organization, "And Justice For All."
