But these signals get through to their targets. Extremists see in Trump their ideal white supremacist president, a person who's able to signal directly to them while providing just enough cover that the media doesn't simply call him out for it. 5/
There's an entire subculture of dangerous fascists who aren't playing around. They're not just getting a rise, they are dedicated to creating a fascist regime in this country and they're using our denial that they exist to thrive and organize. 6/
