10 Things I Learned Making My First $1,000 Online In Less Than Two Weeks

(THREAD)
1. Consistency Leads To Results.

You don’t have to be perfect every day.

But you have to show up.

You have to ask yourself, what should I be doing today that will get me to where I want to be tomorrow, next week, next year?
In fitness, @mikevacanti preaches Consistency > Perfection.

Guess what? It applies to selling things online as well.

Just like lifting weights, consistently showing up leads to results over time. Most people quit after a couple of things don’t go their way.
There’s a reason why those people do not succeed.

Don’t be like these people.

See your mission through.
2. Track Your Costs.

There is a reason @StartSellingSSS recommends a budget of $500-$1,000 before you even start.

Domain name. Shopify apps. Setting up a LLC. That’s not even factoring in your paid traffic budget.
These costs add up. Don’t let that deter you from getting started.

Keep a spreadsheet to help you organize. It’s helpful to know exactly how much you’ve spent and where you’ve spent it. You can also track the profitability of your ad campaigns.

Invaluable pieces of data.
3. Follow What Has Worked.

In all likelihood, someone else has done what you’re trying to accomplish.

Learn from them.

People share their successes and failures for the world to see. Take advantage of the encyclopedia of knowledge that is the Internet.
This includes finding people who might be a couple of steps ahead of you in the game (@DinerPiner) or hundreds (@schm7dt).

Successful people put their ideas for you to steal.

Just look at @kobegatsby or @Nappyb0yy’s timelines for ways to become an entrepreneur today.
4. Not Everything Will Work For You.

There are some pieces of advice which have not yet worked for me. And that is okay. I am a novice in the game.

For example, I can’t figure out how to run an effective Facebook advertisement yet.
So for the time being I’ve taken up researching successful ones and trying my best to follow what has worked for others (#3).

Don’t quit just because it’s not working.
5. Copywriting Is King.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can become rich quite easily if you master the skill of copywriting.

That is not to say I’ve mastered the skill or become rich – neither is true.
But copywriting translates roughly to “sales in the written word.”

If you can sell things with your writing, how could you ever go hungry?

Do you think @DennisDemori, @ComedicBizman, or @NabeelAzeezDXB will ever be poor?
6. Take Action Now.

Do it now. If it helps, remember that you only have so long to live.

We all deal with the illness known as procrastination. You want to say “this can wait.” But can it really?

One of the ways you can get results quickly is by taking action quickly.
Want to get to the gym?

Don’t put it off. Go.

Action leads to more action. And more action leads to results. This refers back to #1.
7. Find Your Unfair Advantage.

@ipb_media has written about the term UNFAIR ADVANTAGE because he wants you to think about what you’re doing that’s better than anyone else.

For me, this was the product I chose, what I chose to name it, and the advertising that went with it.
These were three things that all took me less than an hour to do, but has been the reason for more than 80% of my sales (probably more).

I have used this UNFAIR ADVANTAGE to drive profits.
8. Look The Part.

How can you stand out online?

With a good logo. It may not even have to be good – just not bad. The bar is sometimes that low. Get a Fiverr logo.

It’s cheap enough and it’ll probably get the job done.
In real life, it works that way too.

@WellBuiltStyle consistently points out how poorly most men dress. Pay attention to how the competition looks. If it’s crap, be better. If it’s gold, be gold.
9. Peaks and Valleys.

Refer back to my sales chart.

Down, up, down, up. Progress is rarely linear. It constantly fluctuates.

Don’t let that impact your behaviors.

If you have a plan, stick to it. Think in terms broader than days, weeks, or months. It's about years.
10. It’s Worth It.

You should have the end goal of what you hope to achieve in mind.

For me, that is freedom – to wake up, work, and play when I want.

If you’re on the fence about creating a new world for yourself, don’t be.
The world you dream of is closer than you think.
