1. People confuse percent (%) with total numbers a lot when it comes to politics since politics are a numbers game and based on optics.
2. For instance the ICE protests are a good example. A poll came out the other day showing that 84% of the population wants illegals turned over to authorities (That would by turned over to ICE for the zombies out there)
3. That means at most 16% want ICE disbanded. The number is most likely lower since about 5% never care about anything and/or have no opinion through out their life. So lets for shits and giggles just say 10% support disbanding ICE.
4. That seems like a very small amount doesn't it? However you see all these protests so that number must be wrong, correct?
5. This is where the confusion comes in. See the 10% figure says nothing about the amount. It's a % not an amount. In a country of 330 million people 10% is 33 million people.
6. Out of 33 million the left has a deep enough pool to stage protests to make it look like many people agree with them. The media shows the protests and 297 million people start to think they are not the majority but the minority. This is the basis for Astroturfing btw
7. Astroturfing is the step child of community organizing. It's the politics of optics and postmodernism bullshit enabled by simple confusion and conflating of numbers vs %. This is what leads many on the left and some on the right to enter what I call the bubble.
8. If you watch the media, listen to their spin and see the protests you start to see the fake reality as real and those that want to believe it, do. They start to make decisions and take actions based on that warped POV.
9. Postmodernists call this "changing the world/changing the narrative" This can lead to all kinds of problems and misunderstandings and leads you to make stupid decisions, like the Sen from NY made yesterday when she called for the disbanding of ICE
10. It's an illusion and the vast majority of the time the illusion gets hit upside the head with the 2x4 of real reality when the people are allowed to vote or express their real opinions on the matter.
11. A very few times it actually works and the small % can change the opinion of the vast majority but those are anomalies mostly. This doesn't stop them from continuing to practice this deception.
12. Personally I think it's all a waste of time but you have true believers with this subject. So expect more of it as we ramp up to the elections. IMO unless the left gets out of their bubble I don't see things changing anytime soon and they will continue to pick wrong issues
