I recommend also reading @emptywheel’s analysis making significant points about Flynn’s registering as an agent of Turkey only in March 2017, still lying on those forms, and conspiracy in which he participated with Turkey agents lasting into those months.

If nothing else, Flynn was fully complicit in the crimes charged here: working as an unregistered paid agent of Turkey to deliver a longtime US resident to the tender mercies of Recep Erdogan. He was literally doing work for Erdogan ON ELECTION DAY. justsecurity.org/wp-content/upl…
Requisite caveat: “Treason” is thrown around way too casually, and as neither Turkey nor Russia are formally “enemies,” clearly not applicable here in any literal sense. But if there’s an apt word for “paid agent of a foreign despot while incoming NSA”, it ain’t polite.
