Hulu Langat Marathon 2018

We arrived at Choon Hwa School which is around 1am. The organizer were preparing all the equipment, table including the race timing mat. They were very organized and effiecient to make sure runners are ready to run.
[REPC] Those outstation runners, you can take your REPC an hour before the flag off whereras local runner you can retrieve your repc a week before the race. This is very convinient to the runners.
[START] We gather at the starting line while RD @jeffooi1 explained the safety during running. 4.30am sharp, RD flag off all of us!
[ROUTE] This is non competitive race. The water station including portable toilet available every 3km. They served you with mineral water and some isotonic drinks. Cold drink is good! For the first 10km, we were gradually increasing our elevation from 77m to 120m
At 11km, they served you with water and banana which is the first station with fruits. At this station, the elevation was 150m (altitude). The interesting about this race is the hilly part and foggy misty jungles. From 11km you need to run uphill to 15.58km.
This 4.58 km distance strecth, you need to run uphill until the highest peak at 318m where next water station located. Here, they served you with water and Nangka. After this station, most of the runners love is the donwhill. We ran until 20km at 170m altitude.
At this waterstation, they served you watermelon and mineral water. No photo since watermelon is very well know in any long race. 🤣 We skipped the next station which is at 22.5km to catch DURIAN station at 25km. Here, the route is flat with average 147m altitude.
Along the route, we saw this beautiful lake view. Not sure what's the name of this lake but most runner will stop and pose, so do i 🤣. The smells of durian along the road and the kampung view makes me want to walk and enjoy the route.
We ran like crazy when we saw Durian water station. I'm durian lover ya. So we ate durian a lot but not that much. (kena ingat orang belakang gak). We spent like 15minutes at the that station. Here is the uturn and heading back to the starting line. We run and burp all the way 🤣
We continue to jog until water station at 30km where they served water and coconut. A refreshing drink during hot weather. I took 2 coconuts to drink. (benda dah beri kan 🤣)
Towards the finishing line, they also provide rambutan and water at station 36km. Here the route is descending from 113 m to 80 m (finishing line). The kampung view, durian trees are everywhere. You can see true kampung scene if you run Hulu Langat Marathon.
[FINISH] At the finishing line, my watch clocked at distance 42.57 km which is over 400m to a marathon distance. Here, they served us Cendol, Cold soya drinks and Nasi Lemak. (Kat finishing pun makan lagi). Here's finisher and medal pic.
Finisher medal was big and colorful. Route elevation graph was included in this tweet.
I recommended this Hulu Langat Marathon is a must run marathon in Malaysia. You will experience kampung scenic view with full loaded of local fruits and elevation gain for add-on. For first marathoner, this can be your first marathon. For PB, this is best place with elevation
