...yet, the DHS appears to have done next to nothing to act on the information and sufficiently safeguard election systems.
Now, Sec. Nielsen is somewhere between under-reporting and openly lying about the extent of ongoing Russian efforts to corrupt our election systems.

It would seem to me that giving the American public a window into the Russian hacking efforts happening as we speak would make for compelling TV but what do I know...
