Welcome to Monday, happy people! It's going to be a busy week, packed with things to know and see and do, so may I suggest an awesome read to help you look forward to Tuesday?
THE GIRL IN THE GREEN SILK GOWN will be released tomorrow, July 17th! This follow-up to SPARROW HILL ROAD brings back everyone's favorite hitchhiking ghost, as Rose Marshall contends with the issues of the living, the dead...and the undecided.
SPARROW HILL ROAD was what's called "a fix-up novel," meaning it was a series of short stories collected into a single volume and given a few rounds of polish to make them all flow together.
I remain very proud of SPARROW HILL ROAD: I'm a fan of the form, which was at its genre peak during my childhood. It's like building a car in your garage from scavenged parts. You feel like a rock star, even if it never runs quite as well as you want.
THE GIRL IN THE GREEN SILK GOWN, on the other hand, is an actual, full-length Rose Marshall adventure, written to be consumed as a single piece. It's a ghost story of the American road. It's a modern myth of roads better left forgotten.
The Rose Marshall books exist in the same universe as InCryptid, but off to one side, in their own twilight hinterland, where the crypt doors creak and the tomb doors shake.
I am so proud of this book, and I love Rose so much, and to be a little venial for a moment, I would absolutely love the chance to write a third book in Rose's adventures. But it's sales of the second that will determine that. So...
Give a girl a ride?

THE GIRL IN THE GREEN SILK GOWN, releasing 7/17/18 from @dawbooks. Rose Marshall is waiting. Can you be the one who gets her home?
