BREAKING: The Special Counsel's Office notified a Federal Court In Virginia that they will seek immunity for up to 5 people to testify under conditions of immunity in the upcoming trial against Paul Manafort

(These people have not been publicly named before in the case.)
"The Special Counsel's Office says they aren't sure if they will call any of the witnesses so they want to file the requests for immunity under seal."
A salient point to be sure. Immunized witnesses for Manafort's trial might simply be there to lay a foundation to prove that Manafort's actions now correspond to his prior bad acts to indicate a pattern of behavior. The other options are tantalizing though
“Disclosing the motions would reveal those individuals’ involvement in the investigation and the trial, thereby creating the risk of undue harassment."

“Such concern potentially would be heightened by the additional revelation that they have invoked their privilege against self-incrimination.”
Prosecutors asked Ellis to seal five separate motions about the potential witnesses and unseal any of them if they are called to testify.
US District Judge Ellis denied a request by Paul Manafort to move his upcoming from Alexandria, Va. Ellis rejected Manafort’s argument of DC media frenzy and Alexandria’s education level/political leanings, make it more likely a jury pool would be biased. talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/judge…
A federal judge has denied a request by Paul Manafort to suppress evidence seized by the FBI from his home as part of the Mueller investigation. One of these days Manafort's attorneys are going to run out of reasons for these delay tactic motions. mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/id…
The Mueller team has filed a list of 436 exhibits that his prosecutors may present at Paul Manafort's trial. They are seeking to show he financed his lavish lifestyle (and possibly his current legal defense?), through bank fraud and tax crimes. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
