Threads like these tend to get on my nerves.

Who the hell cares if a question is supposedly “stupid”?

It gives a brilliant opportunity for honing skills in explaining.

For MANY people in the space, this is truly still a difficult question.
DYOR is a fine phrase, but means nothing if there are no easy materials to research.

It’s threads like the one with the “stupid question” that offer good places to explain it, again and again.
The casual dismissiveness in the crypto space is something that is a pity.

I’ve seen it in the gamer world, too, and it’s rife in many sectors.

Non-junior members seem to always feel the need to distinguish themselves from people they perceive as more junior.
@ahcastor is of course not junior, but I took her question at face value, and just answered it.

Easy peasy, and no harm done.

It wasn’t an article, it was a tweet, for heaven’s sake, and a question at that!
If she’d posted something like “Bitcoin supply can be inflated infinitely because you can keep dividing.”: *that* would have been stupid (because not true).
Tl;dr: prescribing behaviour to people you perceive as stupid (which is a judgement call) is to me non-constructive.

I’d rather keep answering the same questions as long as needed, to young and old alike.
