While a lot of focus is on families separated, & rightfully so; there is a whole lot happening in other arenas in immigration. In Texas, those who file to become US Citizens have to wait 18 months to get an interview. The wait is the longest & prevents new citizens from voting.

The extreme backlog of Green Card and Citizenship cases is like a second wall. Slowing down legal immigration and suppressing the vote of those who can become US citizens. USCIS is not the immigrant friendly federal agency it used to be.
