The other core question is whether the delay in effectively understanding and managing the societal impact is going to increase or decrease over time. Many of these societal impacts seem to behave almost like industrial waste - an unintentional and difficult to remedy by-product.
One which we're in the midst of still playing out:
- the impact of the gig economy (still uncertain who or what is likely to survive long term, both co's and jobs)
- disappearing physical stores (much of my local area + Westfield @ 5th & Market is camouflaged closed storefronts)
