Two suuuper important bits of news to follow
I watched the brief public part of Manafort’s trial this morning in the overflow room near Peter Carr, the SCO’s spokesman. I asked him whether they had expected that the defense wouldn’t offer any evidence and he got a far off look in his eye while he declined to comment.
Then some of Manafort’s defense team sat down for lunch near me. They pressed the waiter on which items could be prepared quickly. Settled on the chili. Some 20m later, some papers which I take to be the judge’s proposed jury instructions have arrived, but the chili has not.
