I'd dismiss you as an idiot for asking the president such a question without any tangible evidence. Media thrives on division and sensationalism and pushing their own agenda. If you liked a policy you talk about how great it is, if you don't you smear & criticize ANY president.
The media started losing credibility 20 or more years before Trump even ran. People get sick of the news media dissecting every word a person says for some hidden meaning or that some salacious gossip must be true & you feed the beast with more innuendo & nonsense.
You wonder why people distrust or hate the media? Because you don't report the news, you try to make the news. Obama, Trump, Bush if you didn't like something you went on the attack because it did not mirror what your outlet liked or wanted. People are sick of it!
When you liked something Obama did you touted it as if the very heavens opened and God smiled down on the earth. If Trump does something even remotely similar you demonize him as if he were the antichrist. Rarely do you give him credit when he's done something obviously good.
