one of the biggest problems we've seen in England & Wales is public access to court judgments. It sounds obvious, but the public should be able to access the judgments of courts..
Another problem is even if you can find a judgment, it's not structured or in a readable, re-usable format. These are persistent problems in many jurisdictions, but particularly in England & Wales

And it causes knock-on problems. If you'd like to build innovative products on top of case law, not having access to the information in the first place is obviously a seriously problem. Not much can get built.
There's a phrase that's perhaps over-used that "data is the new oil". When it come to case law in many countries: it's *untapped* due to problems of access and formatting. However that's why we have (and continue to build) an API for case law.. there's value in the data
