& here's what happened to a variety of other businesses spun out of Dupont and/or Dow
now imagine if both of those large unfocused businesses merged their most attractive, most scarce, highest return on capital businesses together, had almost no debt on combined balance sheet, spent 2 years integrating, & were just beginning to show promise
and that that portfolio was about to be broken into 3 more focused units in a few months time, just as end market trends for some of their long cycle businesses are starting to inflect higher for the 1st time in years
and that the guy running the company did all of this before at a prior company, where he spun off / merged a public company portfolio into a 7 bagger for shareholders
and if that guy, who also 10xed shareholder returns at General Instruments, recently called DWDP's current stock price "the biggest disconnect Ive ever seen in my career"
