Gather round, folks! It’s time for another round of What Is Andrew Pierce Wrong About This Time?

[SPOILER: Everything]
“No other sanction”. Well that’s a lie right off the bat. The news report is here. And we can see that the court imposed a community order, a restraining order and costs. There would also be “requirements” to the community order, such as unpaid work or a rehabilitation programme.
It’s important to note that there are few facts given. The charges aren’t even specified (“assault” is not an offence), and no information is given about the reasons given by the court for passing that sentence.
The court is required to follow Sentencing Guidelines. The news report does not refer to these nor to where in the Guidelines the court found the offence fell, nor why it reached that decision. The court *might* have been wrong. We just don’t know.
And this is the bottom line. On its face, the story sounds terrible. But we only have a handful of the facts. It is impossible to say whether the sentence was appropriate, in law or otherwise, without knowing the full picture. And lies by Andrew Pierce do not help anyone.
And my question to @toryboypierce is this:

Your tweet is factually wrong. Is this because you are:

A) Too lazy to do the basic research?
B) Too stupid to understand it?
C) Too cowardly to debate the subject on its true facts?
D) Pathologically dishonest?
E) All of the above?
A little extra from this report gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-…

So £150 compensation, not £75 as Pierce claimed.
