Let me do a thread, about what I call having "FUCK YOU MONEY".

It's below, and I promise you'll enjoy it and and most importantly, you'll learn tons from it.

In 2014, I watched this movie, "The Gambler", and a scene from it further impressed on my mind the concept I call having "Fuck You Money".

Here's the scene:



Please watch it first, then come back. It is important for context for the rest of this thread.

Watched it? Good. Let me basically explain what transpired in that scene of "The Gambler" you just watched.

In the scene, Mark Wahlberg’s character is broke and needs money to gamble. He wants to borrow money so he can get back in the game so he visits a loan shark...

played by the legend John Goodman. Now if you know anything about loan sharks,you'd know they are vicious in words and even more in action.

They rarely lend money to people who can't pay and if they lend you money and you don't pay back, won't pay pay or can't well, goodluck o.

So here's a transcript of that scene you watched:

Loan Shark: ”I need to know if you’ve got the fucking brains to walk when it’s time to walk. People don’t, you know. Ball players that can’t play anymore. Assholes trying to maintain a standard of living not possible anymore.

A lot of those around. I’ve seen people be up half a million dollars …”

Gambler: “I’ve been up two-and-a-half million dollars.”

Loan Shark: “What do you got on you?”

Gambler: “Nothing.”

Loan Shark: “What did you put away?”

Gambler: “Nothing.”

Loan Shark: “You get up two-and-half million dollars, any asshole in the world knows what to do. You get a house with a 25-year roof, an indestructible economy shitbox car and you put the rest into the system at 3 to 5 percent and you pay your taxes. That’s your base. Get me?

That’s your fortress of fucking solitude. That puts you, for the rest of your life, at a level of ‘Fuck You.’”

Loan Shark: “Someone wants you to do something? Fuck You. Boss pisses you off? Fuck You. Own your house. Have a couple of bucks in the bank. Don’t drink.

That’s all I have to say to anybody.”

Loan Shark: “Did you grandfather take risks?”

Gambler: “Yes.”

Loan Shark: “I guarantee he did it from a position of Fuck You.”

Loan Shark: “A wise man’s life is based around Fuck You. The United States of America is based upon Fuck You.

You’re a king? You have an army? You have the greatest Navy in the history of the world? Fuck You.”

The United States was founded upon the position of “Fuck You.” Our grandparents and great grandparents arranged their lives from the Position of “Fuck You.”

My Grandfather was a great man. He died in 2005 at the age of 102. He was an orphan who grew up to own the biggest yam barns in his village, traded with the white man in oil and fruit crops and had 15 children.

Don't judge. That how wealth was measured in those days.

One of the things I learnt from him was how important it was to have "Fuck You" money.

He regaled me with stories about how he was able to fight off intimidation from a repressive King (installed by the White man of course) who was famous for using blunt knives to peel off the..

ankles of people who disagreed with him and his edicts. The practice in my place was called "ikpu ogbo".

Grandpa was able to do that because he was rich in every sense. He was famous as a fighter, a warrior and one who had come up from the bottom via personal effort and hustle.

Nigeria was founded upon the position of “Fuck You.” Our grandparents and great-grandparents mostly arranged their lives from the Position of “Fuck You.”

Somewhere down the road,I think we lost sight of this position.Sadly,many of us no longer strive to live the wise man’s life

But what is "FUCK YOU"?

“Fuck You” is:

1. You’re not dependent upon anyone for anything.

2. You never have to work for money. This doesn’t mean you won’t work. It simply means you don’t HAVE to work.

3. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want.

Notice something?

Fuck You doesn’t include: a billion naira networth, a Banana Island mansion, vacation homes in Dubai and Cyprus, a boat or Range Rovers. These things are nice, but they’re not required to be in a position of "Fuck You".

Fuck You is 100% about owning your time and owning it 100%.

Its a position in which you dont have to do anything you dont want to do. You dont have to run off to work 6 days a week if you dont want. You dont have to climb the corporate ladder if you dont want. You dont have to kiss someone’s ass hoping for a promotion if you dont want to.

You don't have to sweat the big sale, don’t have to wear a suit with a noose around your neck. You don’t have to inch along through rush hour traffic to and from work.

You only do those things BECAUSE YOU WANT to do them.

That's being in a position of "FUCK YOU".

A Position of "Fuck You" allows you to have complete autonomy in your life, so that you can live each day as you wish.

AUTONOMY “Freedom from external control or influence; independence.”

So how do you get yourself into a position of "FUCK YOU"? How do you get automony.

Well, autonomy does not come without work, risk, sacrifice or effort. It certainly does require all of these and more, all directed towards one thing - creating WEALTH.

There is no FUCK YOU, no autonomy, without WEALTH, because getting money is the reason we do 90% the things of the things we do.

We need it to pay bills, solve problems,buy pleasure, to BE FREE, for FUCK YOU.

You have got to starting today do things that create wealth for you.

You MUST as a matter of urgency learn HIGHLY paid and highly valued skills - copywriting, sales, marketing, social media, networking, etc.

You can start a business (i love this one). Or if you work at a job, save and INVEST part of your income, come rain, sun or high water.

Do it long enough, more frequently enough, learn, test, adapt, implement, seek guides, pay for advice and sooner or later you will arrive at FUCK YOU.

The world is changing my friends. Are you keeping up?
