The father of a girl murdered at Parkland tried to introduce himself to Kavanaugh yesterday. The judge refused to shake his hand & snubbed him.

As an originalist, he ignores the concerns of most Americans for public safety because they weren’t foreseen in 1791. Slavery, anyone?
Originalism is an excuse for corruption. It pretends that the People of 1791 could foresee the needs of public safety today.

While most Americans favor common sense gun reform, the Merchants of Death have payed the GOP to ignore the public.

Courts should check that corruption.
Since Parkland, grass roots efforts by students and voters have passed more than 50 new gun safety laws in 26 states. These laws are likely to come up for review by the court.

By snubbing the father of a slain student, Kavanaugh shows where he stands.

The Trump admin cut the advertising budget for the ACA by 90%.

FOIA obtained emails show this was knowingly designed to harm enrollment, and they repeatedly lied about that fact.

Dem House oversight puts an end to the sabotage. Remember what they did when they had the power.
On a call w/ reporters, in response to whether HHS had studied the efficacy of advertising, an official said, “We haven’t done a specific study related to the public awareness of the program.”

It was a lie. They had, & knew it would harm enrollment.

The day open enrollment began, the Trump administrator of ACA benefits wrote a tweet designed to scare Americans away from enrolling.

Now that Dems have won House oversight, she’s promoting enrollment. Oversight stops the sabotage.

Fred Guttenberg, whose 14 year old daughter was killed in the Feb 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, said he tried to introduce himself to Kavanaugh.
Video of the encounter shows Kavanaugh looking Guttenberg right in the face before turning & walking away without a word.
Since his daughter’s murder, Guttenberg has become an outspoken gun safety advocate with many of the survivors of the shooting that left 17 students & teachers dead.
