What self respecting author wouldn't recommend her own books on #ReadaBookDay? So if you fancy 390k words worth of female led fantasy with assassins, dragons & phenomenal cosmic power, you've come to the right place, friend. lucyhounsom.co.uk/book-series/th…
And now to share the love. Prepare thyselves for a thread of brilliant women. First up: @PaigeLChristie's important ode to the power of female education and the bonds of sisterhood...with dragons!*

*who are not what they seem...
For old school D&D lovers who want something new try @sennydreadful's smashing Copper Cat Trilogy where a rogue, a mage* and a warrior save the world...if the price is right.

*A grumpy tormented mage. Think Raistlin but even grumpier
Big fan of @naominovik's Uprooted and this new book is equally excellent. Three memorable female characters, an extremely surly ice prince and a compelling tale underpinned by serious themes of cultural discrimation.
For the horror fans amongst you try this award winning debut from @Catrionaward. Rawblood is an immensely clever book spanning decades & joining multiple narratives together. As beautifully realised as it is creepy.
Deathless by @catvalente is just off the scale good. In addition to presenting a refreshingly realistic female MC, it is a profound & often unsettling depiction of the give and take involved in marriage between equals, all set against the most dramatic epoch in Russian history.
In keeping with the Russian setting, @arden_katherine has written an evocative and compelling series about a young woman with fire in her heart and a zest for adventure. I was glued to both books & can't wait for the third.
An oldie but a goodie which I'm gutted I missed as a teen. @robinmckinley's The Hero and the Crown has the feel of a modern epic. I challenge you not to love Aerin, her boldfaced way of speaking and her bravery. After all, if you want something done, do it yourself.
Imagine a Britain where the 99% are slaves to the 1% with the power. Wait. That's real life. But @DrVictoriaJames takes this rubbish reality and turns it into a fantastic series that holds up a mirror to society. And hey not all the Equals are bad...
All @lainitaylor's books have a dreamy, exotic quality and none more so than Strange the Dreamer, which takes the reader on the kind of quest all story lovers yearn for - to a hidden city full of wonders. One of the most imaginative reads I've had the pleasure of curling up with.
