1) In 1948, a Buddhist monk set himself ablaze in in Harbin, China, to protest the persecution of Buddhists by Mao Zedong's Communist revolutionaries. The following year, Mao's Red faction formally proclaimed establishment of the People's Republic of China.
2) In 1963, Buddhist monk Thích Quảng Đức self-immolated in the middle of a busy Saigon intersection to protest persecution of South Vietnam's Buddhist majority by President (and Catholic) Ngô Đình Diệm's government. Malcolm Browne's photograph for AP won a Pulitzer Prize.
3) "I respectfully plead to President Ngô Đình Diệm to ... implement religious equality to maintain the strength of the homeland eternally. I call venerables, reverends, members of the sangha and lay Buddhists to organize in solidarity to make sacrifices to protect Buddhism."
4) Thích Quảng Đức didn't commit ritual suicide to protest the escalation of the war between the South Vietnamese government and the Viet Cong insurgency. His act was meant to draw attention to the persecution of South Vietnam's Buddhists by the ruling Catholic minority.

7) For half a century since Thích Quảng Đức went up in flames, the American Left has maintained his sacrifice was a protest against American Imperialism and Military Adventurism. That notion, like just about everything else so-called Progressives want us to believe, is a lie.
8) And now Senate Democrats and their obsequious allies in the enemedia are making a martyr of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the reluctant debutant who fears to fly and testify under oath to "her truth," in as much tawdry detail as her pro-bono lawyers can coach her to "remember."
9) Dr. Ford will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee and sit demurely as Democrats pour gasoline over her, light a match, and set her ablaze for the good of The Cause. Code Pinksters will shout "Viva la Revolution!" as Capitol Police drag them from the room. What a show!
