Had a conversation with a coaching client yesterday

He had a background in tech... but was trying to work with real estate clients... even though he doesn't understand the RE business anywhere as much as tech
This is a common mistake freelancers make

You try to go too far out of your circle of competence right outside the bat

There are probably certain markets or niches you're drawn towards that are good, profitable niches to work in
- Fitness
- Making Money Online

- Dating & relationships
- Prepper / survival

- SaaS and startups
- E-commerce

If you don't know what to pursue, take whatever projects come your way

If you already have a strong interest/knowledge in one of these, go for it
I'm into fitness and making money online, so most of my clients are in those markets

I don't work in them exclusively, but that's where I'm interested and knowledgeable

REMEMBER: The FARTHER you go from your Circle of Competence, the harder you're making it on yourself

I've made several changes this month

- 2 new niches sites
- 3 new VAs
- Cutting daily emails down to 3
- Increase focused on paid group coaching
- Updated positioning

And more..

But I don't consider them changes

The point is to continuously EVOLVE over time
A lot of young people and new business owners get stagnant

You're not consciously evolving or growing

It's not going to happen every day

And a year is too long for a meaningful feedback loop

But I'm sure you can make progress every single week

Yes - EVERY week
Birthdays are only once a year

New Year's is only once a year

Summer is only once a year

We like to think about our lives during these events

But they don't happen often

Shorter feedback loops will force you to grow faster

THREAD // Making Friends Is Easier Than You Think

Had a great time with @MyLatinLife @NomadicHustler and @_RobORourke at dinner last night

It's easy when you're in school

But a lot of people seem to have trouble making new friends as they get older
The school environment is conducive to friendship because you spend so much time together

You share classes, activities and meals together so it's easy to find your tribe

Because you're younger, your standards are also low

You haven't refined who you are and what you want
As you get older and finish school, you're not really forced to be anywhere except work (if you work in an office)

A lot of people struggle with making new friends because they don't SEEK OUT additional activities that put them in environments where they can make friends

People have been screaming about the exit of HSBC and UBS as sign of
bad economics. That's a huge lie. I will try to explain it in a very
simple way. HSBC and UBS were never set up for regular banking. When I say regular banking I mean retail banking.
They never ran salary
accounts; they were never set up to afford loans to customers etc.
Their sole purpose was to help customers who can afford their services
an easy way to transfer funds overseas.

Yesterday @segalink advised that we stay away from buying used phones. I totally endorse that advice. Today i will share how a client was sentenced to death for buying a stolen generator. This is a true story.

Ideally, buying goods from a market overt, without any notice as to the defect in the title is enough defence, in so far as the goods were bought for a fair value but this is Nigeria where the vast majority of our Policemen are very ignorant of the law
So this guy of northern extraction (Haruna) was working as a gateman in Benin and someone approached him offering a small generator for sale. They bargained and agreed for 7k. The next day the guy brought the generator in a sack, collected the money and left.

So, after a period of being relatively reticent with interviews except for like call-ins to his friends at the state media (which they would inevitably try to end before he was done talking, as they realized he was saying something damaging), Trump has been doing the media rounds
Here today I'm going to be talking about a couple of recent ones, a televised interview with Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes and one with the Associated Press that went up yesterday.
