Sen. Collins: saying that dark money has been spent to oppose Kavanaugh. She reviewed his 12 year record. She spoke with Kavanaugh twice to address concerns.

She is addressing all arguments against Kavanaugh, defending him. ‘Kavanaugh has stated that no president is above the law.’

She addresses Roe v Wade. Kavanaugh believes precedent is a constitutional tenant, that has to be followed. Argues that in rare times, precedent will be over turned. She feels he will follow precedent.

She asked Kavanaugh if he has made any commitment to any outside group on how he would rule. He stated he has not.

She feels Kavanaugh is more of a centrist (based on previous rulings.)

She is now addressing the sexual assault allegations. Focuses on presumption of innocence.

Collins believes Ford was sexually assaulted, but the four witnesses could not corroborate her allegations.

Judge, P.J., Kaiser all do not recall the night.

Questioning how Ford got home.

Does not feel the claims meet the threshold of ‘more likely than not.’

‘I do not feel that these charges can fairly prevent Judge Kavanaugh from sitting on the court.’

Now bringing up the release of Ford’s letter. Does not feel Feinstein released the letter.

Does not feel Grassley treated Ford unfairly. ‘Treated her with compassion and respect.’

Addressing the anonymous leaker, with anger.

Sen. Collins says she will vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

Collins eloquent speech could have been drafted by the Federalist Society. She automatically assumes Kavanaugh is honest, in spite of many documented lies. Her comments on dark money were outstanding projection & blithely ignores his unfit temperament. @SenatorCollins shameful.
