Spot on.

Narratives MATTER.

Among my peers, I see two distinct narratives:

1⃣ "College were the best years of our lives. Working hard sucks."

2⃣ "Life gets better and better every year. Yes, I work extremely hard. But I'm inspired by big dreams and supportive friends."
Our narratives should promote a low time preference.

We should look forward towards the future with excitement.

Right now, we discount the future way too much.

As @tylercowen said to me, we under-rate the massive, massive benefits of compound learning.

10/10 quote:

"Knowledge and productivity are like compound interest.

The more you know, the more you learn; the more you learn, the more you can do; the more you can do, the more the opportunity — it is very much like compound interest."
