“Why is it getting harder and harder for Native Americans to vote?" apps.publicintegrity.org/abandoned-in-a…
When I began reporting this story on why voter turnout is low on the Standing Rock reservation, I didn't know the Supreme Court would decide the week of publication to allow a new voter identification law to go into force in North Dakota for the upcoming election.
The new requirements have the potential to affect the ability of people there, who already face obstacles on the way to the polls.

I want to take this opportunity to share the voter ID requirements that will be in force. This is from the ND secretary of state
If you are a North Dakota voter who doesn't have a residential street address - who only has a PO box address - this is what the ND secretary of state suggests that you do to get a residential street address.
In addition, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is offering to help members of the tribe obtain what they need (@tasheenafinn) in order to vote.
