Academics: When you justify an all white syllabus because that is the legacy of your field, your racism is showing. POC have always contributed to academic knowledge even as they have been systematically ignored by white scholars. You inherited racism and choose to maintain it.
If you are a white academic who spends more time trolling scholars of color than reflecting on the whiteness of your syllabi and the syllabi of your white colleagues and mentors please don’t call yourself an ally.
Diversifying a syllabus to include POC voices is not diversity for diversity's sake. It is about changing what counts as knowledge and who counts as knowledge producers.

In response to all of the trolls I will just say a fragile ego has to constantly convince itself that white people have made all of the important contributions to human knowledge while feeling threatened by the prospect of including more diverse voices in the conversation.
