Dear EVERYONE who keeps trying to make @Tip a Black liberation spokesperson:
This is the type of BS that happens when we don't connect a Reproductive Justice and Black feminist framework with Black liberation. This shit was trash & violent towards women. essence.com/celebrity/t-i-…
This imagery is no different than Kanye saying that he is supporting Trump because the "her" in "I'm With Her" made him feel "uncomfortable" as a man. Mistreatment & violence towards women is ALSO a tool of white supremacy.

White supremacy doesn't exist without patriarchy.
If your justice doesn't have a gender analysis...it's not justice! In the long run, this type of shit still ends up hurting Black women. It makes me sick that some of y'all still believe you can use sex w/ a man as a corrective action. This video is what rape culture looks like.

I completely dislike the "a Black woman could never do this and still have a career". It makes white women the standard for misbehavior and forgiveness. Plus, if you really believe that, go throw some grace, well wishes, and think piece energy on Blac Chyna and my fav Mo'Nique.

Many of the people who responded to my last thread engaged in carceral logics saying some variation on “his ass should rot in jail” if not calls for his death. Are there other ways we can imagine justice, accountability and healing?
Prison abolitionist Mariame Kaba has said, as ppl raised w/ carceral logics it’s hard for us to imagine or desire alternatives. The #prisonindustrialcomplex has limited how we think about justice—even though other nations do things differently.

So, there's a point Nate Silver keeps trying to make that I'm not sure is penetrating, which is that saying something has a 1 in 6 or 1 in 7 or 2 in 9 chance of happening, or whatever, is *not* saying it can't or won't happen.

Those are real odds. Solid chances.
You shouldn't bet your life savings on a 1 in 6 chance, but you wouldn't bet your life against it, either.
Whatever anyone says, whatever odds anyone is laying, there is a real chance for us to seize the Senate tomorrow and there is a real danger that we lose the House.

What we od about both of those pieces of information is: we vote.

I should be finishing my grad school application and writing sample. BUT, I need to write about Aziz Ansari. I'm getting tired of all the apologia, victim-blaming and using ambiguity to try and defend him from what he did. I will get flak for this, but I don't really care.

This is it. SHE SAID NO!
This is NOT rocket science. When someone says, " Whoa, let's relax for a sec, let's chill" when you say you want to go grab a condom so you can fuck them, your response must be, "I totally understand. What would you prefer?"

NOT what he did which was to pretend it didn't happen
