@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence The whole problem is that you deal in half truths. You're scavenging the reporting for parts you like, regardless of how well your stated "facts" fit with the facts as they're actually offered. For example, you take the bottom proportion (1/1024) of an estimate...
@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence ...that goes as high as 1/64, about sixteen times more likely. Being a probabilistic estimate, you're butchering the real estimate to make her heritage look more distant, infinitesimal. So, too, do you treat the folks who the samples are from with the same disdain.
@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence The reason while South American indigenous populations were sampled, is that those were not only available, but part of a population that branched off from the same population who were the ancestors of the Cherokees. Eliminating European markers, one could get a good idea...
@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence ...of the degree of Native American ancestry, based on the bottleneck of ancestry that the migration across the Bering Strait land bridge provided. Between colonial times & about 1858, when the alleged NA ancestor, a Neoma "O.C." Smith) died, that DNA entered the family.
@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence Records show Mrs. Smith was born in North Carolina and died in Tennessee. So, either she or some unnamed ancestor took a very long voyage from South & Central America in pre-civil war times, or that person was of a related population more local to where Warren's family came from.
@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence So, which do you think is easier? The attested connection through Neoma "O.C" Smith, an individual who lived between 1794 and 1858, who is claimed to be part Native American, or some odd person migrating thousands of miles in pre-industrial times out of South America?
@OrackBomama @SnoopaDo @elizabethforma @mike_pence One way or another, that ancestry exists, with 99.9% likelihood. You're quibbling about where and when, and not even realizing it. The test results have to be explained somehow. You can't, because though you call her a liar, your story has more and deeper holes in it.
