Seems like a mistaken inference here. Winning a Nobel Prize in physics or chemistry does not imply any knowledge of or expertise in science policy. Just as someone who has a genius for inventing better engines isn't necessarily going to be good at running a car company.
This isn't to say that the critics in Q know any better, just to point out that expertise in one field of science is a very different thing from expertise in science policy.
I might be more convinced if the article provided any details as to *why* Brexit threatens science, but it doesn't.
One could argue this is an example of the well documented "halo effect" bias. Tell people someone has a Nobel, they infer said person is Very Clever and therefore must Know About All The Things en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_effe…
