/ I cannot decide whether to include exercises at the end of chapters in Bldg a Second Brain book. Overall goal is for the book to be as universally accessible, easy to understand, and applicable to everyone as possible
/ PROs: exercises REALLY help solidify and personalize the lessons, provide an immediate action to put new ideas into practice, and are actually super useful, not just "discussion questions" or filler
/ CONs: I don't think I've ever done an end-of-chapter exercise in a book; they can interrupt and break the flow of someone who thinks they have to implement before continuing; there's not really time/space to fully explain the exercise + guidelines; obviously no interactivity
/ I'm planning on selling an "extended edition" directly through my website that could contain not only exercises but examples, templates, checklists, case studies, etc. It would be more like a workbook, for people who want to do that work
/ But something feels wrong about just dropping all these ideas on people without clear next actions. And if I'm going to provide next actions, they should be well explained and concrete arrgghhh. It's a slippery slope
/ What do you think? Exercises or no exercises at end of key chapters or parts? And if yes, in what form?
